Wow What an August

Firstly the 1st Romney Marsh Festival was a huge success. An excellent turn out of acts, too many to mention, together with a good crowd mixed with unusually good weather for 2007, made this event one to remember. In addition to a great time had by one and all the event also raised about £1,000.00 for Demelza House Hospice (final amount still to be confirmed 23/08/07). So well done every one for making this an event to be proud of.

From Romney Marsh I was in Javea Spain attending a birthday celebration. Playing in 38degrees was a bit of a shock to the system. As we were down that way we had an excellent holiday, and at last attended the Dali Museum in Figueres, it has only taken us twenty years to get there but it was well worth it. So having driven over two thousand miles in Spain we headed back by ferry across the Bay of Biscay, where to finish the holiday off we saw whales. Two close enough to the ferry to see them, brilliant.

Back home on the Thursday night in time to attend Broadstairs folk week. As ever and excellent week of fun frolics and beer. Thanks to those who attended the Sailing Club for their support.

After the excesses of Broadstairs I had my daughter and twin, ten year old, daughters down for their annual visit. Well I can tell you that I know what of these August events was the most exhausting, you’ve guessed, the girls. Brilliant kids, well behaved, great fun, but hecky thump, I’m knackered, but in a nice way.

September sees the last of this year's festivals for me, the Deal festival 14th 15th 16th.
After this I shall be concentrating on recording, so more news soon
